Temazepam 10mg Overview

Temazepam 10mg tablets are sedatives which may be used: • for the short-term treatment of insomnia (difficulty sleeping), which is severe, disabling or distressing • as a pre-medication before minor surgery or investigative procedures, especially when hospital admission is not required.

Temazepam (Restoril) generally starts working within the first hour after taking it. Because it is slowly absorbed by your body, some people find it is helpful to take the medication 1 to 2 hours before bedtime, especially if they have problems with falling asleep.

Side Effects of Temazepam 10mg:

Drowsiness, light-headedness, loss of balance & co-ordination, confusion, low blood pressure, dizziness, hallucinations, agitation and nightmares. Other medicines may interact with Temazepam such as some types of antidepressant and antiviral drugs, amongst others.

Long term risks:

Physical dependence, tolerance and severe withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly, seizures and memory loss. Agoraphobia, anxiety and panic attacks.

Short term risks:

Overdose especially if mixed with alcohol or other depressant substances, respiratory depression, coma and death.
